Flooring Installation In Cold Weather

The colder weather may be setting in, but don’t let it stop you in your tracks!

RESYN specialise in flooring installation in cold weather, with a unique curing ability. Unlike polyurethane and epoxy resins, an MMA resin system can be installed at temperatures down to -30°C without any detrimental effect on cure time. With MMA resins, all floors will be fully cured within just 2 hours of installation, regardless of the temperature, meaning your building programme can remain on schedule with no additional costs for external heating.

Ambient installation temperatures for epoxy and polyurethane flooring systems are 20°C, and as the temperature falls below this, the curing period increases, with customers often being advised that external heating sources are required. Another factor for consideration is the concrete slab temperature. This is generally lower than the air temperature and, again, will impact the curing process. We would, however, advise that manufacturers do not recommend the installation of epoxy and polyurethane floors below 5°C.

For a guaranteed, faster curing time that you can rely on, choose an MMA resin floor.
