Food and Drink Retail
Bluebells Restaurant, located in the affluent town of Ascot, is a stunning venue serving high-end, modern European food. The restaurant provides an opulent dining experience for guests both in terms of food and interior design. When the venue decided to upgrade their kitchen facilities, RESYN were asked to provide advice on a resin kitchen flooring solution as an alternative to vinyl.
Tyrrell Services Limited were responsible for undertaking the kitchen refurbishment, and when discussions were held over the floor finish, a resin kitchen flooring option was recommended as a more durable and slip resistant finish in comparison to the initially proposed vinyl.
Resin flooring provides the perfect solution for commercial kitchens. Offering exceptional durability, hygiene and slip resistance, it excels within this environment creating enhanced longevity and reduced maintenance.
RESYN were responsible for removing the existing vinyl floor and installing a scrape coat, embedded with a promesh reinforcing membrane prior to the installation of the Degafloor FB System. The addition of this process removes any undulations within the substrate and creates a higher tensile strength within the floor.
The Degafloor FB system, which is a freeflow resin, broadcast with aggregates and encapsulated by the seal coat, creates a seamless, slip-resistant finish, even under wet conditions. With a chemically infused bond to the substrate, the system’s longevity is greatly enhanced.
The venue, which is popular within the area, required the refurbishment to be completed with minimal closure. The installation was completed over two days and due to the fast-curing characteristic of the Degafloor systems, within just two hours of installation the refurbishment could continue.
The installation was completed to the satisfaction of both the client and the contractor. John Rampello from Bluebells Restaurant commented:
“After being introduced to Resyn, I was very comfortable that this was going to be a good decision. The staff have all been great in explaining everything to me and putting my mind at rest about the process. On the two days of the work being done, Mark and his colleagues were amazing at their craft. Watching them work was great, and seeing the floor go down in the relevant stages was so good to watch. The final product exceeded my expectations, and I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Resyn to anyone.”
