The popular pub group who are in the process of refurbishing their venues needed a hardwearing, slip-resistant floor to replace the existing vinyl sheet within the kitchen area.
The floor had to be installed and ready for use within the shortest time possible to ensure there was minimal disruption to the kitchen trade.
Having used RESYN on other refurbishment projects, the expanding pub group was aware that the company specialised in fast-curing resin flooring products, which was essential for this renovation. The pub, which is located in Denbighshire, is popular with the locals as well as tourists and as a result, the company did not want to close the kitchen for any length of time.
The Degafloor FB system, which was specified for the kitchen and pot wash area offers excellent slip resistance, even in wet conditions, which can prove fundamental in a hazardous and fast-paced kitchen environment. According to the HSE guidelines, a floor with a PTV value >36 is a low risk of slip, the Degafloor FB system can offer >50 when in wet conditions.
The Degafloor range of systems is based on quick-curing MMA resins and within just two hours of installation, the floor is fully cured and can be put back to full use. The entire kitchen had to be stripped on the first day and as the kitchen was on the first floor all equipment was stored in the pot wash area.
The resin floor was then installed overnight with the equipment being reinstalled the following day. The pot wash area was then completed the following night once all equipment from this area was moved into the kitchen. The equipment was again reinstalled the following day ensuring that there was minimal disruption to the kitchen.
