Installation Resin Flooring Requirements
Best known for their Blue Stilton among many other cheese products Long Clawson Dairy have been producing award-winning British cheese for 100 years.

The Melton Mowbray site was in need of renovation in some of its production areas including the aptly named “Cheese room floor”. The area covering approximately 200m2 was in need of a hard-wearing, slip-resistant, hygienic floor which meant a particular product was best suited for their resin flooring requirements.

Why RESYN
After working with the RESYN Company on previous installations, Long Clawson contacted the company to ask for advice on the best solution for the upcoming works.

ACS_0309editThroughout the room there were drains that needed to be fully operational after the installation, therefor the Degafloor QTA was chosen as this is a hand-troweled system with quartz scatter finish that will not run into drain upon application

The factory is in constant production therefore attention to detail was required regarding dust and fumes. The areas The Nation Flooring Company were operating in needed to be fully sealed from the rest of the production areas, therefore extra care was taken when cutting off the relevant areas, something we have extensive experience in completing.

Due to the demanding time restraints the Long Clawson adhere to, the area had to be finished rapidly. The complete flooring process was completed in 6 days over 2 separate shifts and production commenced after 2 hours due to the quick curing nature of MMA resin.

Operations Director of Long Clawson commented:

“Long Clawson Dairyhave utilized the services of RESYN since 2010. They have worked on numerous projects over the years ranging from patch repair of floor screed, installations of new floor screed, coving and screeding of kerbing in High Care & Low-risk production areas, and also setting fails in changing rooms and equipment workrooms.

We found them to be very flexible and accommodating with working hours, fitting in with production requirements as necessary. We would have no hesitation in recommending their services to other potential customers.”

In order to use the Degafloor resin, RESYN had to undergo training to become accredited as one of their ‘approved installers‘.

As health and safety standards are paramount, we prioritise our responsibility to protect our employees and customers and are registered members of the SSIP scheme, Safecontractor.
