Why RESYN?

RESYN had already proven that a resin floor was perfectly suited within an educating setting through previous installations that had been completed over the last 14 years. The design and technology department was the last area within the college that had yet to receive a resin finish. When the existing parquet blocks started to become loose, the college took the opportunity to remodel the department and chose resin as the preferred finish for the floor.

All the existing parquet blocks were removed by BG Builders and RESYN prepared the floor to remove the bitumen adhesive. To reinstate the levels, RESYN installed a Retinol Extreme screed which was left to cure fully prior to the installation of the Degafloor Flake system.

The Degafloor Flake system is a decorative, seamless resin flooring system which offers excellent durability in high footfall areas. RESYN also installed a coved skirting to make the area easier to maintain.

To avoid disruption to the school, the project, which totalled 475m2, was undertaken during the summer holidays. The MMA Degafloor system used cures fully within in just 2 hours, meaning that remaining renovations were also able to take place within the school closure period.

The old parquet floor had started to fail, so once it was removed, we prepared the area and installed the Degafloor Flake system, which has already performed well across the school for the last 14 years even with heavy foot traffic. Thanks to the rapid curing of the MMA system, the installation was completed during the summer break with no disruption to the other contactors on site.”
