Resin flooring for the Public Sector
RESYN was recently approached by PGR Construction, a well-established construction company based in Oundle, to provide support on a bridge deck surfacing replacement project, in Peterborough. The existing surface had become worn over time and required a new finish.
The bridge deck, covering a total area of 38m², required a durable, anti-slip flooring solution to ensure both safety and longevity. After reviewing the requirements, the contractor specified Degafloor for this project.
RESYN’s experienced installation team approached the project with efficiency and precision. The Degafloor RTU System was selected for its excellent slip resistance, rapid curing time, and proven durability under demanding, external conditions.
Before the project started the installation team secured the bridge with protective sheet boards covering the railings, to prevent debris from falling and ensuring safety for the cars travelling below the footbridge.
After preparing the surface and applying the primer, movement joints were cut in and the RTU binder was trowel applied onto the bridge. Whilst the resin was still wet, Bauxite aggregate was broadcast onto the surface, creating an exceptionally safe and hard-wearing finish, capable of withstanding frequent foot traffic and tough weather conditions.
One of the key advantages of this system is its fast-curing MMA technology, which allows surfaces to be fully cured and trafficable within just two hours of installation. This ensured that disruption to the busy pedestrian route was kept to a minimum.
The works were carefully scheduled and completed in just three nights. This efficient turnaround showcased the combined benefits of fast-curing MMA resin and RESYN’s flexible, customer-focused approach to project delivery.
The results spoke for themselves, with PGR Construction praising both the quality of workmanship and the professionalism of our team.
Scott from PGR Construction commented: “Thank you for the work you’ve done on this bridge for us. It’s been mentioned by many how professional, helpful and courteous everyone has been while undertaking this work. I too have been informed that the end Client is very happy with your work.”
