Over the last 10 years, Lincolnshire Co-op have been replacing the existing vinyl floors within their stores with a decorative, hardwearing resin floor finish. Saxilby Food Store, located in the West Lindsay district of Lincolnshire, has been the next in line to receive a full store refurbishment and an upgrade to their facilities.
RESYN, who are the resin flooring contractor for Lincolnshire Co-op, were asked to assist in the refurbishment of the floor. The property is one of the larger stores within the estate but the refurbishment programme needed to be completed to a very tight schedule.
RESYN were required to remove the existing two layers of vinyl tiles and prepare the floor, ready for the installation of the Degafloor Flake System. The Degafloor Flake system is highly decorative and is seamless when installed. The seamless finish not only offers a visually attractive appearance, but it also helps to aid longevity and reduce maintenance.
Vinyl and tiled floor finishes are often likely to fail at welded or grouted joints and ongoing repairs are costly and can be disruptive to the store. The seamless nature of resin minimises weak spots and reduces the risk of failure. Resin also creates an extremely durable bond to a wide range of substrates enhancing the system’s longevity and decreasing the chances of delamination.
A major advantage of the Degafloor resin products is their ultra-fast curing time, which offers a significant benefit to retailers who have a short refurbishment window. Cured fully within just 2 hours of installation, a new floor can be installed and ready for use with minimal disruption.
