Flexible polyurethane resin flooring is also known as elastomeric polyurethane. A self-smoothing flow applied resin, flexible polyurethane demonstrates high structural resilience in addition to flexibility, toughness and durability.
A standard polyurethane resin flooring will tolerate minimal structural subfloor movement and require a strong substrate – due to the pressure caused when curing.
Our experienced floor layers work with flexible polyurethane resin flooring, which allows for potential minor movement in the structural subfloor and puts less pressure onto the substrate because of its flexible nature.
Flow applied flooring such as flexible polyurethane is classified as a ‘Type 5’ medium to heavy duty by FeRFA – The Resin Flooring Association. Flexible PU is therefore suitable for foot traffic, frequent fork lift truck traffic and occasional plastic-wheeled trolleys.
Finished off with a UV-stable topcoat, flexible polyurethane flooring can be used in a wide range of demanding conditions.
The flexible polyurethane flooring system is available in both a smooth and slip-resistant options and can be tailored to individual requirements with the standard, comfort and acoustic options.
As with all flexible polyurethane flooring, the curing process can be longer than that of MMA resin – making it an ideal specification on new builds or when time isn’t as much of a factor.
